Tizza osteortriti (TOA) - bu o‘rta va keksa yoshdagi odamlarda keng tarqalgan sekin rivojlanuvchi degenerativ kasallik bo‘lib, qo‘shma funktsiyalarining yo‘qolishiga va surunkali og‘riq tufayli jismoniy nogironlikka olib keladi. Jahon aholisining o‘sishi bilan TOA asosiy sog‘liq muammosiga aylandi va sezilarli iqtisodiy yukni keltirib chiqarmoqda. Hozirgi davolash usullari, jumladan, dori terapiyasi, fizioterapiya va jarrohlik amaliyoti cheklangan, dori-darmon bilan davolash ko‘pincha qoniqarli natijalarga olib kelmaydi, jarrohlik esa kasallikning rivojlangan bosqichlari uchun qimmat variant hisoblanadi.
