Abstract

This study analyzes how stylistic devices in British newspaper headlines influence the interpretation of news stories and shape public opinion. It focuses on rhetorical techniques such as parallelism, irony, and antithesis, which are frequently used to emphasize key ideas, contrast opposing viewpoints, or offer a critique. The paper explores how these devices are employed to craft persuasive headlines that not only inform but also engage and persuade the audience
