Jigarning surunkali diffuz kasalliklari, jumladan surunkali virusli gepatitlar, noalkogol yog‘li jigar kasalligi va jigar sirrozi, global sog‘liqni saqlash tizimida muhim muammo hisoblanadi. Ushbu holatlarda jigar fibrozini aniqlash kasallik prognozi va davolash taktikasini belgilashda asosiy ahamiyatga ega. An’anaviy usul — jigar biopsiyasi — yuqori aniqlikka ega bo‘lsa-da, uning invazivligi va asoratlar xavfi mavjud.Zamonaviy noinvaziv usul sifatida FibroScan (transient elastografiya) jigar to‘qimasining elastikligini o‘lchash orqali fibroz darajasini baholaydi. Klinik tadqiqotlarda ushbu usul o‘rta va og‘ir fibrozni aniqlashda yuqori sezuvchanlik (70–90%) va spetsifiklik (80–95%) ko‘rsatgan hamda CAP parametri orqali steatozni baholash imkonini beradi.European Association for the Study of the Liver va World Health Organization tavsiyalariga ko‘ra, FibroScan surunkali jigar kasalliklarini skrining va monitoring qilishda samarali diagnostik vosita hisoblanadi. Ushbu usul biopsiyaga bo‘lgan ehtiyojni kamaytiradi hamda xavfsiz va takror qo‘llash mumkinligi bilan ajralib turadi
