Linguistics, or linguistics, is a science that studies language in all its manifestations, and not just one language, but the languages of the world. The word philology comes from the ancient Greek φιλολογία - “love of words.” Philology studies the culture of a people, which is expressed in the language of this people and in their literary creativity. Philology and linguistics are closely related disciplines that often give rise to disputes about the identity of these concepts. Both majors study languages and everything related to them, but most professionals agree that there is a significant difference between them. What is the difference between philology and linguistics?
