Stylistic devices form the critical basis for all cognitive processes that include thinking and remembering and transmitting messages. The article evaluates how rhetoric and figurative language techniques support mental operations like conceptual mapping and inference along with memory retention and how they mold message expression during communication. The article demonstrates how metaphor and repetition along with irony and personification and simile operate across storytelling for instruction as well as everyday conversation and literary content by using theories from discourse pragmatics and cognitive linguistics. The discussion shows how stylistic devices simultaneously support mental processes and improve person-to-person message delivery through numerous real-world examples.
