The article analyzes dehkan farms in the early 20th century, when the Soviet government implemented a policy of nationalization. It discusses the specifics of socio-economic relations in the villages, including the influence of traditional structures, family ties, and local norms on the collectivization process. It also examines how these factors influenced the perception of change by the local population and their reaction to government policy.
