Abstract

The article considers the phenomenon of independence of Central Asian states as a new stage in the fight against “mass culture”. The author analyzes how the acquisition of sovereignty has affected the cultural identity of the region and how indigenous societies seek to oppose the monotonous influence of global pop culture. The research work also analyzes both the political and cultural aspects of the “fight against mass culture” process in Central Asia, encouraging the reader to reflect on this issue in every possible way.
