Abstract

The concept of gender equality plays an important role in the development of society and the protection of human rights. This article highlights the meaning of gender equality, the process of its formation, and its modern analysis. First of all, gender equality is discussed as ensuring equal rights and opportunities for men and women in social life, education, employment, and politics. Attention is then paid to how this concept has developed throughout history and how the roles of men and women have been evaluated in different societies. The article also examines the legal foundations of gender equality through the analysis of documents adopted by international organizations, national legislation, and their implementation in practice. In the modern analysis, the participation of women in the labor market, their role in education, family life, and leadership positions are scientifically considered.
