The modernization of the educational process and the provision of educational institutions with modern equipment are actively taking place. But at the same time, a fairly limited number of teachers and educators are still prepared to use information technologies (IT) in their activities. Nowadays pedagogical internet communities are poorly developed. This article discusses about open online courses in teaching Russian as a foreign language and how to conduct them efficiently. Of course, here is the fact that students can or cannot form certain competencies necessary in the modern information society.
