THE LINGUOCULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF ANTONYMS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

This article analyzes the linguocultural significance of antonyms in English and Uzbek. The study examines the semantic classification of antonyms, their role in cultural contexts, and their pragmatic application. Additionally, it explores the intrinsic connection between language and culture by investigating how antonyms reflect societal values, mentality, and communication styles. The article provides a comparative analysis based on pragmatic approaches, metaphorical meanings, and cultural differences. As a result, it is determined that the unique use of antonyms in each language reflects their linguistic and cultural identity.
