This article covers theoretical and methodological foundations for the development of technological competence of future teachers in the field of technology education. The study analyzes in a complex way the multifaceted interpretations of the concept of technological competence, the criteria for its separation into components and approaches in a practical aspect. In the process of training future pedagogical personnel, the role of using modern information and Communication Technologies, Project Education, STEAM approach, integrative methods based on the digital environment in the formation of technological competence is assessed separately.
