Abstract

The spleen of newborn rats is functionally immature, lymph nodes are not fully formed, it is difficult to distinguish all areas in them, foci of roughness are not detected. At the time of birth, the histogenesis of the spleen will be incomplete. Trabeculae and capsule composed of reticular cells are loose, the number of primary lymphatic nodules is low, while secondary nodules do not exist. Up to a six-month period, the spleen has the highest immune activity, manifested by an abundance of lymph nodes with a reproduction center, a large number of lymphocytes in them and in the periarterial lymphatic couplings.  Starting from the nine-month period, involutional changes are observed, which are classified by an increase in the number of connective tissue elements in the spleen, a decrease in the total number of lymphocytes in lymph nodes that do not have reproductive centers, periarterial lymphatic connections and reproductive centers.
