The article is devoted to the history of the emergence of pharmaceutical knowledge, which has been formed over the centuries and influenced the development of medicine and healthcare. The origins of pharmacy in ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Mesopotamia and China are considered, as well as the contribution of ancient scientists, including Hippocrates and Galen, to the formation of the foundations of pharmaceutical science. The article also discusses the influence of alchemy, medieval pharmacies and the scientific revolutions of Modern times on the further development of pharmacy as an independent discipline.
