Аннотация

This article analyzes the phenomenon of synonymy in the English language, focusing on its definition, types, and communicative significance. It explores the difference between absolute and relative synonyms, their stylistic and contextual variations, and the challenges they pose for language learners and translators. The study emphasizes how synonymy enriches the English vocabulary, allowing speakers to express subtle shades of meaning, maintain stylistic variety, and achieve precision in both spoken and written communication. Through selected examples, the article demonstrates the functional role of synonyms in lexical diversity and effective discourse.
