Abstract

Green economy refers to an economy that aims at reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. It is an alternative to the traditional economy which has been dependent on fossil fuels and focused solely on economic growth. This article discusses the concept of green economy and its core principles. It explains why a shift to a green economy is needed. The article dwells on the key sectors and policies that are essential for transitioning towards a green economy. It also discusses the opportunities and challenges involved in establishing a green economy. The conclusion highlights that a shift to green economy is crucial for sustainable development and building a low-carbon resilient future.
