In this article, the theories of managing the competitiveness of food products at the macro-economic level - the protectionist policy implemented in order to ensure national food security in the country, including the protection of the activities of residents producing food products from foreign competitors, including the practice of managing product competitiveness based on the results, are summarized and recommendations have been developed.
