Аннотация

Language functions not only as a tool for communication but also as a medium through which culture is expressed. In the field of  Language Teaching , there are two major opposing perspectives regarding the connection between language and culture. One view argues that language and culture are closely interconnected, while the other suggests that language teaching should be separated from cultural elements.Considering this debate, the present study aims to explore whether language and culture are truly linked. In other words, it examines whether teaching a language necessarily includes teaching its culture. The study begins by defining the concept of culture within the ELT context and then discusses the relationship between language and culture. In the practical section, the paper analyzes empirical studies to investigate this relationship and presents a theoretical framework based on the views of various experts. The study adopts a theoretical approach to discuss arguments both supporting and opposing the integration of culture in language teaching. Finally, the paper concludes with key findings and provides references for further research.
