OPİNİONS OF HİSTORİANS ON THE NİSBA "AL- BALĀDHURĪ" OF AḤMAD İBN YAḤYÁ

Abstract

This article provides detailed information about the life, scholarly activities, and the nisba "al- Balādhurī" of the famous historian Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyá al- Balādhurī, who lived during the 8th-9th centuries under the Abbasid Caliphate. The author elaborates on al- Balādhurī's origins, his historical works, and the etymology of his nisba, relying on various sources. Additionally, the article explores the connection between the nisba "al- Balādhurī" and the plant called " Balādhur," including the medicinal properties of this plant. The article also compares al- Balādhurī's nisba with those of other scholars, highlighting the differences and similarities between them.
