Hozirgi kunda bugʻdoy inson oziqlanishi uchun hayotiy ahamiyatga ega boʻlgan va u global miqyosda eng koʻp yetishtiriladigan ekin boʻlib, kunlik protein iste’moli va oziq-ovqat kaloriyalarining taxminan 20% ni tashkil qiladi. Bugʻdoy guruchdan keyin rivojlanayotgan dunyodagi odamlar uchun eng muhim oziq-ovqat ekini hisoblanadi.[1]
