Аннотация

This article explores the phenomenon of linguistic lacunae in the English language, with a specific focus on the inability of English to fully express certain emotions and interpersonal relationships. Drawing on comparative linguistic analysis and cross-cultural studies, the article demonstrates how these lexical gaps reflect cultural values and linguistic structures. It also examines how speakers compensate for these gaps through paraphrasing, borrowing, and neologism. The study concludes that recognizing and addressing these lacunae is essential for effective cross-cultural communication and translation.
