Abstract

This article provides a legal analysis of Uzbekistan's practice of utilising the international trade preference system. The study aims to assess the regulatory framework for implementing international trade concessions as a landlocked developing country, identify the institutional and legal barriers to their effective use, and outline priority recommendations for addressing these challenges. The research employs normative, comparative-legal, and systemic methods. The study finds that Uzbekistan has established preliminary legal foundations for benefiting from international preferences; however, significant challenges persist, including fragmented regulation, complexity in applying rules of origin, insufficient digitalization, and high transport and logistics costs. The article concludes with recommendations for improving national legislation and institutional mechanisms.
