PROBLEMS OF CRIMINAL-LEGAL PROCEDURE OF CRIMES IN THE FIELD OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION

This article analyzes the theoretical and practical aspects of criminal-legal protection of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Criminal-legal mechanisms are considered based on significant amendments made to the Criminal Code by Law No. ZRQ-1080 of August 8, 2025 (new edition of Article 149, addition of Articles 149¹, 149² and 149³). The article provides an in-depth analysis of gaps in the legislation, new threats in the era of digital environment and artificial intelligence (AI), practical ineffectiveness of liability, institutional weaknesses of law enforcement agencies, difficulties in proving the amount of damage, and problems of international cooperation. As a result of the research, comprehensive proposals have been developed to eliminate the problems, which will serve to increase the innovative development and investment attractiveness of the country.
