PROMISING AREAS OF HEPATOBILIARY RESEARCH: LATEST DATA AND CHALLENGES

The hepatobiliary system plays a critical role in the metabolism and functioning of the body. In recent years, there has been significant progress in the study of this system, which opens new horizons for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This article reviews current issues related to metabolic liver diseases, genetic factors, new diagnostic methods and prospects for therapy. Emphasis is placed on the importance of intestinal microbiota, the use of stem cells and immunotherapy in the treatment of diseases. The latest data emphasize the importance of an integrated approach to the study of the hepatobiliary system and open the possibility of developing personalized treatments.
