ANALYSIS OF INTERNATIONAL FINANCING IN THE HEALTHCARE SECTOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC (2020–2022)

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of international financing in the healthcare sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020–2022). The study aims to examine the volume, structure, and directions of external financial assistance provided by international organizations and financial institutions to support the national healthcare system. Key donors, including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Union, and other international partners, are analyzed, along with the main forms of assistance such as grants, concessional loans, and technical support. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, an analysis of the investment attractiveness of the pharmaceutical industry as one of the key segments of the healthcare system is being conducted. The results of the study make it possible to evaluate the impact of international financing on the resilience of Uzbekistan’s healthcare system under emergency epidemiological conditions and to develop recommendations for improving the transparency, targeting, and effectiveness of investment programs in the medical sector. Special attention is given to identifying the specific features of investment in the pharmaceutical industry, taking into account its future development prospects.
