Хронический пиелонефрит — это длительное воспаление почек, особенно почечных канальцев и окружающих структур. Обычно это вызвано рецидивирующими инфекциями мочевыводящих путей, которые распространяются на почки. У детей это может чаще встречаться у лиц с врожденными аномалиями мочевыводящих путей или состояниями, нарушающими отток мочи.
