SOME FORENSIC MEDICAL ASPECTS OF ASSESSING MILD TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

The article analyzes the consequences of mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) and evaluates its outcomes. It is noted that the issue of assessing the consequences of mild TBIs remains relevant in forensic, medical-social, and legal contexts. To improve the quality and reliability of forensic medical examinations for individuals with mild TBI, a comprehensive set of measures is required. Specifically, this includes the use of advanced diagnostic methods in neurotraumatology, such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In cases where such examinations were not performed in clinical settings, it is necessary, during forensic medical evaluations in disputed cases, to refer the victim for these tests. Furthermore, to account for the consequences of mild TBI, investigative authorities should be encouraged to mandate re-examination of victims 4-6 months post-injury. This is crucial for determining the outcomes of mild TBI and providing further legal and medical-social forecasts for managing traumatic brain disease.
