Abstract:

Chronic purulent dacryocystitis and associated rhinosinusitis remain a significant problem in ophthalmo-otolaryngology practice due to the high rate of complications and recurrences. Endoscopic and endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is widely used as an effective surgical method for restoring nasolacrimal drainage. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of surgical interventions, factors influencing treatment outcome, and develop recommendations for preventing complications. This prospective study included 240 patients (18-75 years) diagnosed with chronic purulent dacryocystitis with rhinosinusitis. The analysis revealed a high clinical success rate after endoscopic DCR (87.5%) and a low complication rate (5.8%). Algorithms for preventing postoperative complications and recommendations for interdisciplinary patient management are proposed
