INSTITUTIONAL REFORMS AND ITS IMPACT ON THE EMERGENCE OF FAMILY-BUSINESS ENTERPRISES IN TOURISM IN UZBEKISTAN

Abstract:

This study examines the impact of institutional reforms on the growth and development of family businesses in Uzbekistan. The research highlights how the registration processes and improved credit accessibility have facilitated entrepreneurial opportunities, particularly for new and younger family-run enterprises. However, older and more established family businesses have encountered challenges adapting to the new institutional environment. The government's initiatives, such as the "Each Family – an Entrepreneur" program, have further supported the rise of family enterprises by providing financial support and training. The findings emphasize the importance of government policies in fostering a conducive environment for family businesses, while also addressing issues like nepotism and accountability within family-run ventures.
