EMBROIDERY OF “KOK KOYLEK” IS A MIRROR OF NATIONAL CRAFTS

Abstract:
This article examines the traditional art of embroidery of the Karakalpak people, its formation history, and cultural-aesthetic significance. In particular, the embroideries on women's blue dresses kept in museum collections, their harmony, sewing methods, pattern composition, and their symbolic meanings are selected. In addition, the role and skill of Karakalpak women in craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation, is demonstrated through the example of various items decorated with embroidery, such as bowls, equipment, sleeves, and clothing details. The article reveals the ethnographic and artistic value of Karakalpak embroidery based on museum exhibits. The preservation status and museum value of the exhibits make them a valuable source for scientific and ethnographic research.
