LEGAL GUARANTEES OF GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN‘S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION

Abstract:

This article analyzes international legal mechanisms for women's political participation,
focusing on CEDAW and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5). It evaluates the
effectiveness of gender quota and parity models based on the experience of Scandinavian,
African, and Latin American states. Special attention is given to the analysis of reforms in
Uzbekistan from 2015 to 2024. Consequently, practical proposals for improving national
legislation are developed.
