Zafaron (Crocus sativus L.) dunyodagi eng qimmatbaho dorivor va ziravor o‘simliklardan biri bo‘lib, an’anaviy ravishda tuproqda yetishtiriladi. So‘nggi yillarda resurslardan oqilona foydalanish, suv tanqisligi va ekologik muammolar tufayli zafaronni gidroponika usulida yetishtirishga bo‘lgan qiziqish ortib bormoqda. Ushbu maqolada zafaron o‘simligini gidroponika sharoitida yetishtirishda tuproqdan foydalanmaslikning ekologik va iqtisodiy samaradorligi ilmiy manbalar asosida tahlil qilinadi. Tadqiqotda suv sarfi, hosildorlik, resurs tejamkorligi, ishlab chiqarish xarajatlari va ekologik xavfsizlik ko‘rsatkichlari qiyosiy tahlil qilinadi. Olingan natijalar gidroponika texnologiyasi zafaron yetishtirishda barqaror va istiqbolli yo‘nalish ekanini ko‘rsatadi.
