Abstrak:

This article examines the main risk factors associated with the development of hepatic steatosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis D virus coinfection. The relationship between body mass index, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, age, and sex and the accumulation of fat in liver tissue was analyzed. These factors contribute to structural and functional alterations in hepatocytes through disturbances in lipid and glucose metabolism, increased oxidative stress, and activation of inflammatory processes. The formation of hepatic steatosis was shown to be associated with a more severe course of the disease and an increased risk of fibrosis progression. The obtained results highlight the importance of early detection of metabolic disorders and the implementation of individualized therapeutic strategies in patients with HBV+HDV coinfection.
