Consumer protection is an important part of the legal system of Uzbekistan, based on the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights" and the Civil Code, which provide for the liability of manufacturers and suppliers, as well as the right of citizens to compensation for material and moral damages. However, the practical implementation of these rights is complicated by procedural difficulties, low awareness, and the absence of effective collective remedies. A comparison with the experience of the EU and the US shows that class actions, alternative dispute resolution, and recognition of moral damages significantly enhance consumer protection. To improve the system in Uzbekistan, reforms are needed aimed at developing collective protection, strengthening law enforcement, and adapting it to digital markets, which will increase public trust and bring the system closer to international standards.
