THE LINGUISTIC STUDY OF ECO-LEXICON EXPRESSIONS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES
Main Article Content
Abstract:
This thesis explores the linguistic features of eco-lexicon expressions in English and Uzbek from structural, semantic, and cultural perspectives. Eco-lexicon as a part of Eco linguistics reflects ecological knowledge, environmental consciousness, and human attitudes toward nature. The study examines how compounding, metaphorization, and affixation are used in both languages to create ecological terminology using descriptive and comparative linguistic techniques. The results demonstrate that whereas Uzbek eco-lexicon retains culturally embedded, context-based interpretations of ecological ideas, English eco-lexicon is more standardized, scientific, and globally unified as a result of international environmental discourse. In addition to offering insights for environmental education and translation studies, the findings support cross-cultural Eco linguistic research.
