Sri Lanka's higher education system is embracing dramatic changes, one important aspect that is influencing the composition of the undergraduate population is the admission policy set by the University Grants Commission (UGC). This theoretical investigation, which is based on important theories of education, examines the details of the UGC admissions policy and provides insights into how it aligns with those theories. This academic work enhances the conversation on sensible admissions practices in higher education.
