This article examines the stylistic functions of lexical expressive means in English fiction, focusing on how lexical devices like metaphors, similes, idiomatic expressions, and intensifiers contribute to narrative depth, character portrayal, and thematic development. The study analyzes a variety of texts, both classic and contemporary, to understand how lexical choices shape reader engagement, enhance emotional resonance, and convey complex meanings. It explores how different genres and narrative perspectives use these devices to influence mood, character construction, and the overall impact of the story. By investigating the relationship between lexical style and narrative structure, this article offers valuable insights into the role of language in literature and its contribution to the aesthetic and intellectual dimensions of fiction.
