Abstract:

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) are considered an important component of the national economy. They play a significant role in ensuring employment, creating new jobs, supplying the domestic market with goods and services, and stimulating economic growth. Especially in developing countries, this sector makes a substantial contribution to the increase of gross domestic product. In Uzbekistan, a number of reforms have been implemented in recent years to support small and medium-sized businesses. This article analyzes the role of SMEs in the economy, their main advantages, and future development prospects.
