GENDER FEATURES DENOTING MASCULINITY IN ENGLISH PHRASEOLOGY

Abstract:

Previous work has noted the history of English language and the needs of using phraseological units. In addition, the notion gender is also highlighted in the article. The article discusses the social status of man and how it influenced to the language. It explains that Stereotypes played a great role of creating some phraseological units denoting man. The investigation of popular imaginations about men gives an example” bring home the bacon" which represents the role of men in social sphere.
