This study investigates the use of game-based assessment (GBA) to measure communicative competence in a playful and interactive way. By incorporating games into assessment tasks, learners are encouraged to engage actively, apply language meaningfully, and demonstrate authentic communication skills. The findings suggest that playful assessment enhances motivation, provides detailed insights into students’ communicative abilities, and offers practical guidance for educators seeking innovative and effective evaluation methods.
