NARRATING THE MYTHIC PAST: LINGUISTIC PARALLELS AND DIVERGENCES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LEGENDARY DISCOURSE
Main Article Content
Аннотация:
This article examines linguistic similarities and differences in the discourse of English and Uzbek legends. Using a comparative discourse-linguistic approach, the study analyzes stylistic, lexical, and narrative features of selected legendary texts from both traditions. The research draws on theoretical perspectives in folklore and narrative studies developed by scholars. The findings demonstrate that both traditions share structural and narrative patterns typical of oral folklore, while they differ in linguistic expression, stylistic devices, and cultural symbolism. The results highlight how national worldview and linguistic tradition influence the textual formation of legends.
