Abstract:

Figurative language, particularly idioms, plays a crucial role in human
communication, allowing individuals to convey meaning beyond the literal interpretation of
words. This scientific article explores the fascinating world of idiomatic expressions,
unraveling their linguistic mechanisms and shedding light on the cognitive processes involved
in their comprehension. Through an interdisciplinary approach encompassing linguistics,
psychology, and cognitive science, this study delves into the origins, structure, and
interpretation of idioms, providing valuable insights into the complexities of figurative
language
