UNVEILING THOUGHT AND CULTURE: THE LINGUO-COGNITIVE STUDY OF IDIOMATIC COMPOUNDS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF ENGLISH AND UZBEK)
Main Article Content
Abstract:
Idiomatic compounds are special word combinations that express meanings that cannot be understood from the separate words alone. They play an important role in showing how people think, feel, and see the world. Studying idiomatic compounds helps linguists understand how language connects to culture and human thinking. In both English and Uzbek, idiomatic compounds and idioms express traditional values, emotions, and social behaviors.
