LEXICAL-SEMANTIC PROPERTIES OF THE CONCEPT OF “TIME”

Abstract:

This article analyzes the semantic structure of the concept of time in Uzbek and English. Time is considered an abstract, variable and dimensional concept in linguistics. In Uzbek, time is expressed more in a cultural, historical and social context, and is reflected in folk proverbs and idiomatic expressions. In English, the word “time” is used more universally, dimensionally and metaphorically. The article compares phraseological units, synonyms and antonyms related to time in Uzbek and English, and also studies cultural and linguistic features through a comparative analysis of the concept of time in both languages. The article presents an analysis of lexical units and expressions that show the importance of time in human life, its connection with values ​​and labor.
