Abstract:
This article reflects the formation of comparative religious studies in the Muslim world and its teaching as a textbook: justifying the attitude towards other religions on the basis of the Quran and Hadith. The works of such scholars as Abu Rayhan Beruni, Abu Usman Amr ibn Bahr Johizi, Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn al-Ghazali, Abu Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Hazm al-Qurtubi and their arguments in describing religions are covered. Imam Shakhristani's descriptions of religions are fully explained.
