The paper explains the stages of reading, highlights the role of pre-, while-, and post-reading activities, and emphasizes communicative and interactive approaches. The research shows that reading instruction should integrate both bottom-up and top-down processes, and that the teacher’s role is crucial in guiding learners to become independent and strategic readers.
