This article examines the use of satire in Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels and George Orwell’s Animal Farm and 1984. It analyzes how satire has evolved across centuries, shaped by historical and political contexts. The study highlights the differences between Swift’s humorous, fantastical, and indirect satire and Orwell’s direct, allegorical, and dystopian approach, showing how both engage readers while critiquing power, ideology, and human folly. The article also explores the role of satire in social criticism and political awareness.
