Abstract:

This article provides an expanded, comprehensive, and detailed overview of English verbs and their grammatical categories. It describes the central role of verbs in the structure of English sentences, analyzes their morphological, syntactic, and semantic properties, and thoroughly explores categories such as tense, aspect, voice, mood, person, number, transitivity, regularity, finiteness, and verbal forms. The article also explains the roles of auxiliary verbs, modal verbs, phrasal verbs, linking verbs, and stative verbs, showing how each contributes to meaning in communication.
