CONCEPTUAL REPRESENTATION OF THE EMOTION OF SHAME IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK CULTURES: A COGNITIVE LINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE
This article examines the conceptual structure of the emotional category shame in English and Uzbek linguistic worldviews from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology. The study aims to identify universal and culture-specific features in the conceptualization of shame by analyzing lexical-semantic networks, metaphorical models, and cultural scripts reflected in both languages. Using componential analysis, contextual interpretation, and conceptual metaphor theory, the research explores how shame-related lexemes encode social norms, moral expectations, and culturally shaped emotional experiences. The findings reveal that while English and Uzbek share a universal understanding of shame as a negative social emotion triggered by moral transgression and public evaluation, the two cultures differ significantly in their semantic categorization, metaphorical extensions, and sociocultural functions. The English linguistic system demonstrates a more individual-centered and psychologically oriented representation of shame, whereas the Uzbek system embodies collective, honor-based, and socially regulated interpretations. The study contributes to cross-cultural semantics, cognitive linguistics, and intercultural communication by showing how emotional concepts are linguistically structured and culturally motivated.

This article examines the creation history of Ray Bradbury's seminal dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 (1953), tracing its development from early short stories through its final publication. The study employs historical-literary analysis to investigate the socio-political context, personal experiences, and literary influences that shaped Bradbury's vision of a book-burning society. The findings reveal that the novel evolved through multiple stages, beginning with the short story "The Pedestrian" (1951) and the novella "The Fireman" (1951), ultimately expanding into the full novel under the guidance of Ballantine Books editor Stanley Kauffmann. The research demonstrates that McCarthyism, Nazi book burnings, and the rise of television significantly influenced Bradbury's thematic concerns about censorship, mass media, and intellectual freedom. THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TOOLS ON FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING METHODOLOGY: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies have rapidly transformed foreign language instruction by offering adaptive learning environments, automated assessment, instant feedback, and conversational simulations. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the methodological implications of AI integration in foreign language teaching (FLT). Using empirical and theoretical evidence, the paper examines the opportunities AI creates for enhancing personalization, communicative competence, and learner autonomy, as well as the challenges it presents in terms of ethical concerns, digital inequality, algorithmic bias, and overdependence. A pedagogical framework grounded in communicative language teaching (CLT), constructivism, and data-driven learning is proposed to support responsible AI integration. The findings indicate that AI has strong potential to elevate language learning outcomes; however, its effectiveness depends on teacher expertise, institutional policy, ethical literacy, and balanced human–AI interaction.

A HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OVER FORMULAIC LANGUAGE AND THE RELATIONSHIP WITH PHRASEOLOGY
This article analyses the characteristics and roles of formulaic language from cognitive and linguistic viewpoints, emphasising how fixed and repetitive phrases enhance discourse structure, processing efficiency, and communication stability, particularly from historical contexts. The study employs a descriptive, corpus-informed, and historical-philological approach to identify the structural characteristics, functions, and transmission methods of formulaic units across various textual sources. The findings indicate that formulaic expressions function as reliable cognitive anchors, enhancing memory, alleviating cognitive load, and promoting coherence in both spoken and written communication. The study shows that the phenomenon is not as new as we might think, but has been reconsidered and reformulated due to progressively sophisticated linguistic theory; what we have of it in modern times makes a much better description of its cognitive underpinning. It is argued in the paper that these types of formulaic language are an inherent and universal dimension of linguistic behaviour, and that its investigation can offer important insights into mental representation, patterns of use, and discourse structure.

THE PSYCHOLINGUISTIC MECHANISMS OF SOCIAL MEDIA LANGUAGE: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ENGLISH AND UZBEK
This article investigates the psycholinguistic mechanisms governing the reception, processing, and interpretation of linguistic units within English and Uzbek social media discourse. Employing a comparative analytical framework, it specifically examines the cognitive load, semantic encoding, and pragmatic inference associated with digital language features such as emojis, abbreviations, neologisms, and community-specific slang. The study integrates data from prominent platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Telegram) with insights from linguistic corpora and experimental psycholinguistic research to delineate both language-specific and universal cognitive patterns. The analysis demonstrates that while the digital medium universally promotes economy, immediacy, and multimodality, the psycholinguistic adaptation to these demands is profoundly shaped by the structural typology (e.g., agglutinative Uzbek vs. analytic English), cultural context, and pragmatic conventions of each language community. Consequently, the study reveals distinct trajectories of linguistic innovation and user adaptation, highlighting how universal cognitive principles are filtered through and realized within specific linguistic and cultural systems.

В статье рассматриваются ключевые аспекты формирования читательской грамотности у младших школьников. Исследуются подходы отечественных и зарубежных педагогов к изучению этой проблемы, особенности восприятия текста детьми, а также роль иллюстраций в обучении чтению. Анализируются методы работы с художественными, сплошными и креолизованными текстами, направленные на развитие навыков извлечения, интерпретации, анализа и обобщения информации. Представлены результаты опытно-экспериментальной работы в 4 «В» классе школы № 5, демонстрирующие эффективность включения иллюстраций в уроки литературного чтения и внеклассные занятия. Подчеркивается значимость таких подходов для формирования функционально грамотной личности и повышения интереса детей к чтению.

TRANSLATIONAL FEATURES OF ECOTERMS: METHODS AND CONTEXTUAL SPECIFICITY IN ENGLISH, UZBEK, AND RUSSIAN
This article explores the translational features of ecological terms (ecoterms) with a focus on translation methods and contextual specificity in English, Uzbek, and Russian. Ecoterms constitute a dynamic layer of specialized vocabulary that reflects scientific knowledge, environmental policy, and socio-cultural attitudes toward nature. The study examines the main challenges in translating ecoterms, including contextual semantic variability, partial or complete non-equivalence across languages, and the selection of appropriate translation strategies. Using a comparative and descriptive approach, the article analyzes authentic examples from scientific, journalistic, and public discourse to illustrate the application of literal translation, calque, descriptive translation, adaptation, modulation, and compensation. Particular attention is given to the influence of communicative context, target audience, and translator competence on translation choices. The findings demonstrate that effective translation of ecoterms requires a flexible, context-sensitive approach that balances terminological accuracy with pragmatic adequacy in multilingual environmental communication.

The contemporary paradigm of a healthy lifestyle is widely presented as a scientifically grounded and universally valid framework for human well-being. However, its conceptual origins and philosophical presuppositions are rarely examined. This article offers an etymological and philosophical analysis of the concept of health in order to uncover the foundational meanings that have shaped the modern healthy lifestyle paradigm. By tracing the linguistic roots of health in ancient Greek, Latin, and early European traditions, and by situating these meanings within classical and medieval philosophical thought, the study demonstrates that health originally functioned as a holistic and value-laden concept. The article argues that contemporary interpretations often abstract health from its ethical and anthropological foundations, transforming it into a normative and instrumental ideal. Reconstructing the etymological origins of health enables a more critical and philosophically grounded understanding of healthy lifestyle discourse as a cultural and moral construct rather than a purely technical model.

EXPERIENCE OF USING INTERACTIVE METHODS IN FORMING STUDENTS' ECOLOGICAL AWARENESS
This article examines the pedagogical effectiveness of interactive teaching methods in developing students' environmental awareness. The study evaluates the use of case-based learning, debates, project-oriented tasks, gamification tools and field observations within environmental education. The findings indicate that interactive strategies significantly enhance students' ecological knowledge, analytical thinking skills and environmentally responsible behavior. THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ESSENCE OF THE CONCEPT OF “ADAPTATION” IN EDUCATION
The article examines the problem of personality adaptation and self-adaptation in the context of higher education, with a particular focus on first-year university students. The transition from school to university is accompanied by significant psychological, social, and academic challenges that often result in difficulties in mastering educational programs, decreased academic performance, and increased dropout rates. The study analyzes adaptation as a prerequisite for active learning and successful functioning of students within a new social and educational environment. Special attention is given to the lack of necessary academic skills among first-year students and the insufficient coordination of pedagogical interaction between teachers and students as key factors hindering effective adaptation. Successful student adaptation is considered through involvement in a new social environment, participation in educational and cognitive processes, and integration into a new system of interpersonal relationships. The article emphasizes the importance of timely support and the creation of favorable pedagogical conditions for the formation of students’ social and professional identity, as well as for their personal and professional development.

TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE AS A VOCABULARY TEACHING STRATEGY IN EARLY ENGLISH EDUCATION
This scientific article describes the application of the Total Physical Response (TPR) method in elementary English language classrooms as an effective strategy for vocabulary teaching, providing a wide and in-depth analysis of its use. The study examines the psycholinguistic, pedagogical, and methodological foundations of the TPR method and scientifically justifies its compatibility with the psychological and cognitive development characteristics of elementary-age learners. The article also presents a comparative analysis of traditional vocabulary teaching methods and the TPR method, highlighting the increased effectiveness, advantages, and certain limitations of TPR. Research results confirm that the use of the TPR method in elementary English education significantly contributes to vocabulary development, enhances long-term retention, and increases students’ interest and engagement in classroom activities.
