This literature review highlights new trends in the etiopathogenesis of ovarian cancer. Certain pathogenetic aspects of the disease development, such as immunohistochemical markers, proto-oncogenes, and oncogenes, are discussed. Modern methods of screening and diagnosing ovarian cancer are presented. The possibilities of using biomarkers and their combinations for early diagnosis of ovarian cancer are discussed.
