Radiotherapy is one of the important areas of modern oncological treatment, aimed at destroying cancer cells using ionizing radiation. In recent years, innovative technologies aimed at increasing the effectiveness of radiotherapy and reducing its side effects have been rapidly developing. Modern radiotherapy methods allow for precise targeting of the tumor, maximum preservation of healthy tissues, and improvement of the quality of life of patients. According to research, new radiotherapy technologies are playing an important role in increasing the overall survival of patients. In particular, methods such as proton therapy and IMRT expand the possibilities of radiation management and make the treatment process more effective. Among the types of radiotherapy, external beam radiation, brachytherapy, proton therapy and adaptive radiotherapy occupy a special place. Each method has its own advantages and clinical results. At the same time, new strategies are being developed to reduce the side effects of radiotherapy. Advanced approaches such as FLASH radiotherapy technology allow for less damage to healthy tissue. In the future, artificial intelligence and personalized radiotherapy approaches are expected to pave the way for further development of this field.
